The imp of the perverse had his way with me late Valentine's Night. After having some pain for a couple of hours I bugged the 'rents about 2am and after some talking and simple examination by my Retired Navy Medical Corpsman step-dad I was on my way to the emergency room. Long story short about 1pm the next day I was having a laproscopic appendectomy. SO my 36 year string of no surgery is over but I have to say everything came out alright (pun intended) everyone involved was great and made my day and a half hospital visit as pleasant as could be expected. And other than a little bit of soreness at the three incision sites and a sore throat from the breathing tube I'm doing fine.
The perverse part is that I was supposed to start a new job today. Thank heaven the new boss is very understanding and I'll start NEXT Tuesday.
The only other hurdle is going to be the payment of the final bill even with the insurance I could be responsible for as much as $12,000. At least they will do a payment plan.
Oh well everything else is okay and I'm so much happier living over here near Daytona Beach with my Mom and step-dad than when I was in the midst of family drama.
I'll try and update this more often in the future I promise.
